It’s ideally situated in Tawala, Panglao Island Bohol. Panglao, with its warm and turquoise blue tropical waters, laid back scenery and tranquil surrounding is even made more subtle and better with BelleviewRock’s existence. Adding to this wonderful co-existence, BelleviewRock Resort will definitely make your stay in Panglao even more worthwhile. Facing southwards from the resort is the scenic view of the wide and panoramic Mindanao Sea. Erstwhile on the East comes the beautiful and magnificent view of the sunrise every morning. As dusk slowly sweeps in the lazy afternoon across the place, take few steps going Westside of the resort and enjoy the romantic and endearing site of the Sunset. All these breathe taking moments, the gentle breeze of the ocean and the sumptuous meals available round the clock from the exquisitely managed restaurant are just some of the things that we show as our way of extending our warm hospitality to all our guests. BelleviewRock compliments this magnificent place by putting up a swimming pool that accentuates the uniqueness of the place, carefully designing it to become a part of the place not an addiction. The pool will pamper you with an infinite view of the horizon, while sipping the delightful cocktail drinks from one of the submerged seats beside the round pool bar. Beneath the resort, an intricate and carefully patched stairway leads to a quiet, clean and solitude environment of a shallow underwater nature perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. A place where there is absolute privacy and freedom. A place for you. Come and enjoy a place that will take your breath away.
Resort Services & RentalsDecember 01, 2005 - March 30, 2006 Pump Boat Rental (Out Rigger Boat)
Vessel Name: BelleviewRockSafety: Life Jacket - Mobile Phone - Well Trained CrewEngine: 125HPRunning Speed: 12 Knots (maximum)Capacity: 25 Persons + Crew
Charter Service Balicasag Island - US$ 43.00Pamilacan Island - US$ 56.00
Island Hopping Adventure Option AInclusive: Boat Service, Tour GuidePamilacan Island Dolphin Watching - US$ 7.50/PAX (minimum of 4 PAX)
Option B Inclusive: Boat Service, Tour GuideBalicasag Island Snorkeling & It differs in some respect from the Cebuano spoken on Cebu.

For example:

Cebuano: Akoa baya ning sinilas.
Boholano: Ahoa baja ning sinilas.
Tagalog: Akin itong tsinilas na ito.
English: This is my slipper.

However, you will not face too much trouble making yourself understood on Bohol. Many people speak English, and almost all speak standard Cebuano as well as Tagalog.
The language nomemclature in the central Philippines is rather confusing, to say the least. As the central group of islands is called Visaya (or more properly Bisaya, as there is no V in any of the languages spoken there), some people call Cebuano 'Visayan' or 'Bisayan' (Binisaya), however this term is confusing, as this name is also applied to Hiligaynon (also known as Ilonggo), spoken on Panay and in Negros Occidental, and Waray-Waray, spoken on Leyte and Samar. The Cebuano language is spoken on Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor and parts of Negros, Northern Mindanao, and Leyte. Adding to the confusion is that many Filipino's call these languages dialects, even though they are quite distinct in many aspects; similar to the differences between English, Dutch, and German.
Of the three main Bisayan languages, Cebuano is the most common, spoken by about a third of the Philippine population and first language to more Filipino's than any other language, including Tagalog.
As a side note, also in Borneo, there is a people calling themselves Bisaya, speaking yet another language called, you guess it, Bisaya. The historical connection is of course that most Filipino Bisayans migrated to their current homeland some 1000 years ago. In a semi-literate population (the language had its own script before the Spanish conquest), separated by seas and mountains, a language can change a lot in such a span of time, so again this language is unintelligble to Filipino Bisayans, just as much as most English speakers won't be able to make much of Anglo Saxon.
Have a look at our on-line dictionary of Philippine languages to find the meaning of Bisayan words.

Getting to Bohol

Bohol is located in the middle of the Philippines, and can be conveniently reached by air and boat.
Coming from abroad, you have two options: you can fly to Manila or Cebu. Cebu is the most convenient, but only a limited number of international flights will arrive there. Coming from Europe, you'll need to have a stop-over in either Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Hong Kong, however, it will save you the hassle of going through Manila. Among others, the following airlines fly international routes to Cebu: Silk Air, Malaysia Airlines, and Cathay Pacific.
If you come via Manila, you'll probably want to take a connecting flight to Tagbilaran, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is also possible to take a boat to Bohol, but will take 25 hours, and is only advisable if you have plenty of time and enjoy a trip on sea, or have to travel on a rock-bottom budget. If you come from Manila, you can also go to Cebu by air, and then continue by boat. There are numerous daily flights from Manila to Cebu. The flying time is about 50 minutes. The transfer by taxi from the airport to the pier takes about 30 minutes in normal traffic conditions, and should cost 165 pesos. The following airlines fly on the from Manila to Cebu: PAL, Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines, Asian Spirit, Astro Air, and Grand Air.
It is always worthwhile to look for a promotional fare if you fly. You can save a considerable amount of money by asking around a little.
If you come via Cebu, you can also take a short 25 minute flight, but you'll probably want to take the one and a half hour trip with a fast boat to Tagbilaran. The regular boat to Tagbilaran will take about four hours. It is also possible to take a boat to Tubigon and Talibon, which may be more convenient if you want to be on the west or north coast of the island.
The most economical way to get from Cebu to Tagbilaran by boat is to catch a ferry to Tubigon, and continue by bus from Tubigon to Tagbilaran. This is sometimes both faster and cheaper than taking a boat directly to Tagbilaran.

About my Homeland

B o h o lGod's Little Paradise Plunge into the deep - clear blue water, complemented by verdant rolling hills and friendly and religious people that's Bohol.
